Rain expected today

AMMAN - Rainfall and colder temperatures are forecast for today, as the depression which affected the Kingdom on Monday builds up, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said yesterday. The depression, which centres over west Turkey, will cause temperatures in Amman to drop from a maximum of 22ºC on Monday to 17ºC today, weather forecaster Saed Taha told The Jordan Times on Monday. Chances for rainfall are expected to increase in the evening, with brisk southwesterly winds raising dust in southern and eastern parts of the country, Taha added. On Wednesday, a further drop in temperature is expected with a chance of rainfall and temperatures ranging between a high of 16ºC to a low of 9ºC, he said. Temperatures will be lower than their annual average by 4-5 degrees during the next two days with the depression expected to taper off by Thursday evening, according to Taha.
